How to care for your Curly Lipstick Cascade.
Share
To care for a curly lipstick plant, provide bright, indirect light, use a well-draining soil mix, and water thoroughly when the top inch of soil dries, allowing it to dry out between waterings to prevent root rot. Maintain warm temperatures (65-80°F) and high humidity, while pruning stems after flowering to encourage bushier growth and more blooms.
Light
Provide bright, indirect light, preferrably from the east or from filtered west-facing windows are ideal. Avoid direct sunlight since it can scorch leaves. Too little light can cause leggy growth and sparse flowers.
Water & Soil
Water deeply when the top inch or two of soil feels dry, letting excess water drain. Drainage is key since Epiphytes dislike "wet feet". Use a gritty mix like cactus/succulent soil amended with perlite or orchid bark and reduce watering in dormant winter months.
Humidity & Temperature
The Curly Lipstick Cascade loves high humidity of 50% or more. Use a humidifier, pebble tray, or mist with warm water if necessary and keep temperature between 65-80°F (18-27°C).
Feeding & Pruning Fertilizer
Feed monthly with half-strength balanced fertilizer during spring/summer and trim long stems after flowering to encourage bushier growth and more buds.
